My Birthday Bash at The Woodlands Resort

New Cabanas!

By Julie Akiri June 17, 2018

My Birthday was a week away and all of my family had been asking what I want to do to celebrate my special day.  I knew that I wanted to spend the day with my children and family and do something completely different from the norm.  I am part of that generation that prefers memories to things and my birthday was no exception.  My kids and I went to The Woodlands Resort last summer and had the most amazing staycation.  That’s when I thought, why not go to the Resort for my birthday?!  I knew that my kids would love it and the adults would enjoy relaxing by the pool.

New to the resort this year are the cabanas!  Now that’s one way to celebrate your birthday in style and we just had to get one! Our cabana was located next to the lazy river which was like a birthday gift all in itself.

Both of my kids are good swimmers and in elementary school so while they went in the lazy river over and over again, this mom got to kick back and work on her tan.Such a win!  I might have even dozed off a time or two! Our cabana came with bottled waters, a huge bowl of fruit and I was even able to charge my iPhone. You can click HERE to check out my facebook live tour of our cabana.  Best of all, it was just a short walk from the cabana to the activity pool area where there are 2 huge waterslides.  (Click HERE to see a YouTube challenge video we filmed by the waterslides last year). As a bonus in the activity pool, they have underwater speakers. Both of my kids loved listening to their favorite songs as they swam under water!  My daughter also loved hiding behind the waterfall!

I will say that most of our time was spent in the lazy river. Even my 10 month old niece loved floating on the lazy river with us! Halfway into your float down the lazy river, there is a huge surprise – a waterslide!  So not only can you float in your inner tube but the kids love going down the waterslide in the lazy river area.

One of the benefits of staying at The Woodlands Resort, is that the pool area is not crowded at all.The lines for the waterslides are very small – maybe 4-5 people max in line when we were there.  And, sometimes, it felt like we had the lazy river all to ourselves.  Compared to other waterparks with long lines during the summer, The Woodlands Resort was a breeze.

From one Mom to another, you owe it to yourself to visit The Woodlands Resort –especially during the summertime.  The cost of 1 night at the resort for a family of 4 is about the same as waterpark tickets for 1 day.  It’s so relaxing, fun for the entire family and so worth it.  Check it out this summer and see why The Woodlands Resort is my absolute all-time favorite Staycation Resort.

I was given a complementary cabana to use during my stay. The views and opinions expressed in this review are my own.
