Anyone have kiddos with an August birthday?
We do! Our little girl turned 4 this month. Time is fling by! It feels like just yesterday she was born. Anyway, I wanted to share with y’all some birthday ideas for those summer birthdays. I know it’s a tad hot (understatement!) and sometimes coming up with things to do can be hard. Here are the last 2 birthdays we did for her.
For her 3rd birthday, we did a process art themed party. Basically a lot of mess but a tone of fun for her and all her little friends. ha! We did it from 9:30-11:30 to try to beat the heat. Donut themed. We had balloons on the fence to paint, a panting on the fence station with different types of brushes, bubble foam, slime with foam balls in it, kinetic sand, and play dough with dyed rice for to make pretend cupcakes with. All in all she and all her little friends had a blast.
For her 4th birthday, we did a mermaid pool party with a blow up water slide and a bounce house. The bounce house probably got about 20 mins of use then the rest of time her friends were in the pool. Then about an hour into the party we got everyone out and distracted them while a “real” mermaid snuck into the pool! When the kids got back in, they were blown away. They couldn’t believe a real mermaid was in the pool. SHE WAS A HIT!!! All the little girls and boys had so much fun talking to her and some of them even had their lunch next to the mermaid. At the end of the party the mermaid handed all the little girls special mermaid necklaces and the little boys had a shark tooth necklace. This was a great way to get them out of the pool dried off and headed home for rest.
