My Disney World Experience

By Julie Akiri June 7, 2017

From the moment I first became a Mom I have wanted to take my kids to Disney World.  It has been on my bucket list for years and I wanted to make sure that both of my kiddos were old enough to remember our trip and walk the park.

I remember going to both Disney World and Disney Land as a child and have such wonderful memories.

Disney sure has changed since I was a kid.  For starters, they have the My Disney Experience App that you can download that is AWESOME!  This app lets you check the ride wait times so that you can find out how long the line is on your favorite ride without having to walk over and check.  We used this app all day finding rides with the smallest wait time to ride first.  They also have the Fast Pass which has been around for a while and can be booked through the app or computer.  A Fast Pass allows you to choose what time you would like to go on a ride so that you don't have to wait in line which is AMAZING!  Once you use your Fast Passes, you can continue to book more during the day using the app.

Going to Disney World in the summer, I knew that it would be hot and was happy to find that many of the rides had the lines inside in the air condition so you did get a nice break.  You can also go to any Disney restaurant on site and ask for a cup of water for free.  Did you know that Disney also lets you bring in food and drinks?  We loaded up our stroller with sandwiches, water bottles and snacks which really helped to save on the food cost.  We did eat dinner at the park {Mexiacan Food}  and it was very good and affordable.  My kids ate the fajita bowl and tacos and I had a rice bowl with fajita meat, guacamole, rice, beans and veggies...so yummy!  Disney also has an allergy menu at most of their restaurants and can accommodate most allergies including nut, gluten and dairy making it much easier to find something that works for everyone.  Even with their frozen treats, we were able to find something that was both gluten, diary and nut free.
