World’s Tallest Uphill Water Coaster Named Best New Water Park Ride of 2016 MASSIV, named the best new waterpark ride in the world by theme park enthusiasts, was declared by Guinness World Records as the tallest Water Coaster in the World. At 81 feet, 6 and ¾ inches tall, MASSIV packs in the thrills with multiple uphill sections, a translucent turn, and never done triple drop finale. Built to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Galveston park, it’s already a fan favorite. Why MASSIV? It’s the German word for massive and is pronounced “mass – EVE.”

The 70,000 square-foot indoor waterpark offers more than a dozen heated water adventures including four tube slides, three-speed slides, three kids’ activity areas containing a variety of children’s water elements and pint-sized slides, a secluded beach, a heated pool, a man-made surfing wave, and the Torrent tidal wave river, featuring the Island’s first Zip Line: The Soaring Eagle! Want a bird’s eye view while soaring over the park? For a small charge, waterpark guests can glide more than 100 feet in the air at 30 mph on a two-person gondola for ¼ of a mile. Schlitterbahn Galveston’s premium two-story cabanas, which were invented at this waterpark, create a unique and relaxing experience. Even though you may bring your own picnic to Schlitterbahn Galveston Waterpark, the park also boasts a wide variety of delicious foods. The Funnel Cake Factory provides a list of creative concoctions for the sweet tooth swimmers, like red velvet, cookies n’ cream and loaded funnel cakes. Guests looking for something savory to can get their fill at BBQ Haus with BBQ Nachos and slow smoked BBQ brisket, pork, and chicken. The Chicken Bacon Ranch Pizza at Pointe Pizza is a must for all, and beer served up at a chilling 29 degrees at Blizzard Bar is always refreshing for the adult guests.

Operating Hours:

Heated-Indoor Season: Schlitterbahn Galveston Wasserfest Indoor Section waterpark opens weekends during the fall and winter months, and selected holidays October the end of the year. During the winter, the park celebrates the Holidays in style with Holiday Splash – a holiday tribute in a decidedly summery.

During indoor waterpark season, the park opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Attraction availability may vary. Check the website for a schedule. Summer Schedule: Schlitterbahn Galveston full waterpark is open weekends daily beginning May 12, 2017, through Labor Day. The waterpark returns to weekend operations with various attractions available from September 9th to October 15th. The park opens at 10 a.m. and closing times vary from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Check the website for a schedule.
