    It’s never too early to start planning your road trips. Depending on the size of your family, it may be more economical to travel by car. Either way, vacations with loved ones are the best because they create lasting memories. If you take I-10 west for approximately 200 miles, you will find yourself in San Antonio Texas. Did you know that San Antonio is America’s 8th largest city? Not only that, it is home to the annual Fiesta San Antonio, one of the biggest parades in the nation, second only to Mardi Gras. Now that you are excited about this great metropolis, please consider the following family oriented activities, restaurants, and places to get some good rest after the fun has settled down.

If you like amusement parks, then you will love the renowned Six Flags Fiesta Texas. With so many choices, where do you begin? Look at all the amazing things to do while at Six Flags Fiesta Texas — from pulse-pounding roller coasters to gentler options for your little ones. Cool off at White Water Bay or take a break at one of the entertaining shows. Established in 1925, and renovated in 2009, Kiddie Park is the oldest children’s amusement park in the country! Even though the updates are modern, the park has preserved it’s 1920’s style by maintaining all of the original rides. Guests can enjoy the park’s classic-styled Ferris wheel, famous hand-carved Herschell-Spillman carousel, and other classic children’s rides that have made Kiddie Park an iconic San Antonio attraction for more than 90 years!

Don’t be afraid of the water because it feels great! Just like amusement parks, water parks are the way to ride and cool off at the same time. Splashtown San Antonio is 20 acres of cool, clean water excitement. There are over 50 attractions daily. Some of the amenities include free life jackets, showers, swim diapers, lockers, cabana rentals and more. If you have always dreamed of a wet vacation, then this may be the one for you. The downstairs Restaurant reflects the Art Nouveau style of the 1920’s, characterized by their stained glass, symmetrical lines, and large plant motifs. The restaurant was constructed between 1915 and 1918. The room reflects the miller’s trade, with plaster bundles of corn and wheat used as supports for the mantel and wall buffet.
