By Syneetra Williams March 7, 2017

Starting on March 1, 2017, Galveston Island will be bustling with events, food, and fun for you and your family. The time to start planning is now. The Galveston Island Convention & Visitors Bureau is looking forward to meeting you, and your needs for Spring Break and beyond. This years’ lineup of festivals, music, art, and family oriented activities will amaze you. If you take I-45 south for approximately one hour, you can smell the salt water. Try to arrive as the tide rolls in, so you can see the Gulf of Mexico’s enormous waves as they crash onto the shore. What a beautiful sight! Do you love photography? Well, consider taking one of the cruises

so you can get a birds-eye view through your lens.

If yes, then take the Dolphin Sightseeing tour. Join Galveston Water Adventures for their one hour tour of Galveston’s Harbor to see birds and marine life. The boat is usually able to get a close-up view of playful dolphins jumping. The tour is aboard Cruise-N-Time, their twin-engine open-air tour vessel. Do you like to be scared? Or, are you a paranormal activity enthusiast? Either way, there is a tour that focuses on Galveston’s haunted past. Dash Beardsley's Original Ghost Tour on the Strand is Galveston's most popular ghost tour. He started it all for Ghost Tours of Galveston Island.  Like all his tours, Dash has built this trip based on years of research, personal experience, and accounts from residents.

This year-round walking tour takes guests through one of the busiest areas in Galveston; The Strand.  It is a historic district in the heart of downtown Galveston and is known for its rich history and haunting past.  Tour-goers will visit multiple locations in The Strand and learn about the historical events that have shaped the city and hear haunting stories from the long-ago.

This unique tour provides our guests with a historical context into why Galveston is one of the most haunted cities in the world and a hot spot for paranormal activity.  The Original Tour of The Strand is a family-friendly tour and is an excellent choice for those taking their first ghost tour, or who would like to learn more about the history of Galveston.  This tour is an ideal first trip for the paranormal novice or first-time visitor to the island because it entrenches visitors with a wealth of knowledge about Galveston's early days and the science behind hauntings.

An adult must accompany all children under 18 years old.
