Our Favorite Houston Themed Restaurants

Take the dining experience to a whole other level by taking the family out to a themed restaurant- Houston has some of the best for every taste and style preference!

Rainforest Café- This rainforest themed restaurant brings wildlife to life! With tropical themed dishes and animatronic rainforest animals, and even a fountain, your kids will have a one of a kind nature experience.

Downtown Aquarium- The Downtown Aquarium brings the ocean to your dinner table! Seated around the 150,000-gallon aquarium, you get an up-close and personal view of rays, sawfish, and other underwater creatures as they swim by. The menu is also filed with seafood specialties, chicken, steak, and more!

Hobbit Café- This Hobbit themed café will thrill your little Tolkein fans. With a large oak tree for shade, and the inside decorated like a real hobbit house, the theme doesn’t stop there. Hobbits love their food, so a hobbit-themed café wouldn’t be complete without a unique menu straight from the Shire.

Barnabys Café- Dog lovers everywhere will delight with this dog-themed café. This café is a tribute to a much-loved canine, with its dog decorations everywhere—from the ceiling to the walls. Pictures of various pets adorn the place, and the Tex Mex menu has enough variety to satisfy everyone!

The Lake House at Discovery Green- This lake house themed restaurant is seated right at the south shore of Kinder Lake in Houston. There’s a lot of room to play and even remote controlled boats for your kids to use, not to mention the fountain and playground, this place is a must-see.

Clay’s Restaurant- Clay’s Restaurant is perfect for a trip to an old western town! The area has lots of wooden schoolhouses to visit and shop around in, and there’s also an outdoor patio with peacocks and bunnies. Kids can also visit the petting zoo after enjoying the great food!

The Melting Pot- The Melting Pot is a fancier escape to fondue paradise! You can either sample cheese and chocolate pots or settle in for a four-course meal. Make sure to save room for dessert, as it is a must at this fondue restaurant.
