Macaroni Kid Adventure: Deep Sea Fishing

By Syneetra A. Williams September 21, 2016
Are you an adventurer? Do you have adventurers in your family? If so, consider deep sea fishing for your next family fun outing. Deep sea fishing is a form of angling that requires deep waters of at least 98 feet to be considered deep sea territory. Other names include offshore boat fishing, sports fishing, and big game fishing.

There is a great deal of offshore fishing companies in Houston/Galveston, Freeport, and Lake Jackson. They offer packages for large and small groups. Some companies allow riders, non-fishing people to join the excursion for a small fee. There are some important things to remember before you book your trip.
You must have a fishing license.

Call several companies to compare prices and services before you choose the one that is best for you and your family. Some companies charge extra for fuel others do not. For the most part, you are expected to bring an ice chest for your catch, cameras for your memories, life vests for safety, sun protection, food, and beverages. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Some companies offer taxidermy services for your prized catch. Inquire about this service and their prices before you book your trip.

They provide appropriate rods and reels, fish tackle, bait, ice, insulated boxes for your catch, a licensed knowledgeable captain and federal fishing permits. The following deep sea fishing companies offer packages for the entire family. Choose wisely before you settle. There are no refunds for no-shows. Some companies require a deposit. You must give a 72-hour notice for cancellations. Be sure to always ask a company what their cancellation policy is before you book a trip. Cancellation policies vary between companies and can change without notice.
