Discover The Woodlands Children's Museum

By Madison Sowell March 16, 2016

The Woodland’s Children Museum is a great place to take your kids for safe and educational fun, specifically for children ages 7 and younger. The Museum is 11,000 square feet of interactive exhibits and classrooms focusing on early childhood development of hand-eye coordination, social development, and imagination.

Admission is only $5.00 per person, and children under the age of 1 are free. Members are also free—see the website for details on how to become a member!

Doors open at 10 am till 5 pm Tuesdays through Saturdays, and Sundays the hours are 12 pm to 5 pm.

The Museum’s calendar is constantly packed with different planned activities all inspired to build on social skills and get the kids to explore the world around them. What’s special is about these activities is that they are all very diverse and cover different subjects from music and dance to science and even animals and bugs. Get Fit days are especially for promoting healthy exercise and lifestyles at an early age, and events are held for popular children’s figures’ birthday, such as Dr. Seuss!

Just for the summer, the Woodlands Children’s Museum is open 7 days a week from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Activities for children of all ages include classrooms and experiments ranging from making circus-themed crafts, to kitchen experiments, and even Lego building. There’s a super-hero themed day, Shakespeare inspired drama classes, and even one day completely Texas inspired.

During Spring Break there are projects like “Little Picassos” for painting and clay squishing and “Got Science??” for science experiments in all areas from physics to chemistry. Crazy About Critters is a fun experience with furry and scaly animals and bugs, getting children who love nature or bugs comfortable and up close with their favorite critters.

The Woodland’s Children’s Museum is a great place to go for all workshops in the summer and the spring because they hold events and games for every grade and age, letting each child of your family have fun and learn at the same time!
