10 Houston Parks Perfect For Birthday Parties

Here are some of our all time favorite Houston Parks that are a great Birthday Party venues!

1)      Discovery Green 

Discovery Green is one of the largest and best parks to go to for any event, whether you want to rent a party area out or just throw your party in one of many public areas. With ice skating, hiking trails, and more, Discovery Green has countless fun birthday options.

 

2)      Hermann Park 

With its popular hill and Miller Theater, Hemann Park is popular among Houstonians for good reason. The park also offers a Japanese garden and several wooded areas, along with being within walking distance to the museum district, making it a great place to host a birthday party.

 

3)      Memorial Park

Memorial Park is a great birthday option if your birthday boy or girl is more athletic or sports-oriented. The park offers many different playing fields for sports such as softball or baseball. Bring a cake in the shape of a football or a baseball bat and have a sports-themed birthday party!

 

4)      Buffalo Bayou 

Buffalo Bayou is a great spot for a more relaxed, environmental feel. Relax and look at the bayou, make the water burp (yes, you can actually do that!) or view public art and have some fun at the skate park.

 

5)      Sesquicentennial Park

This park is your next birthday venue if your family or guests love the water. The park hosts many boating and canoeing races and even has a waterfall. Enjoy the water in the gazebo if you don’t want to jump in, or watch the boat launches!

 

6)      Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center

If you want to see a variety of environments from beach to bog to meadow to forest, this park is the one for you. It hosts all of these ecosystems, and you can even take a professional tour to see how the park has preserved the land from when its earliest settlers arrived.

 

7)      Tranquility Park

Space fans will love this beautiful park because it aims to commemorate the first landing on the moon, named after the Sea of Tranquility. With its terrain and fountains, it specifically mimics moon terrain and rocket boosters and makes for a great place to host a space themed party.

 

8)      San Jacinto Battleground 

History lovers everywhere would love to have a birthday party in this park because it commemorates the place where Texas gained independence in 1836. This memorial column is taller than even the Washington Monument and even has a museum!

 

9)      Menil Park 

This Park is a great shaded place to take your kids and your dog to enjoy weather, lie in the grass with a picnic blanket, and possibly stop over to the Menil Collection or the Rothko Chapel.

 

10)   Donovan Park

Donovan Park is a safe, gated, beautiful park with wooden themed pay structures, swings, and sandboxes for a more traditional day of play in a park for your kids. They even have a train to play in, making it a great birthday location for younger ones!
